How to get from Fiumicino to Rome?

So, you passed control at the airport, got your luggage and left the terminal. From this moment you take the first steps in Italy. If no one meets you and you did not book a transfer from the airport to the hotel in advance, then you are faced with the choice of one of 3 ways:

Taxi

The first and easiest way to get to Rome from the airport is to order a taxi. Most likely, taxi drivers themselves will offer you this option by contacting in English or even Russian. But you should not deceive yourself, most likely the taxi driver knows in Russian only the words "good afternoon", "hello" and "taxi". It is worth noting that Italians are very friendly and smiling people, but this does not mean at all that they do not want to earn money for you. Therefore, find out the price immediately, on average, a trip from the airport to a hotel in Rome will cost you about 50 Euro during the day and about 65 Euro at night. Despite the fact that all roads lead to Rome and taxis are equipped with a taximeter, you can spend 70-100 euros for an extra half hour of excursion along the roads of Rome. ut if you thought about this in advance and ordered a transfer, you would be met by a Russian-speaking driver and the trip would cost 50-60 Euros.

Train

The second way to get from Fiumicino Airport to Rome is by train. You need to follow the signs that say "Train Stations", with a characteristic image of the train. Tickets must be purchased in advance. This can be done in self-service terminals. Ticket price 8 Euros / person. After buying a ticket, you must validate it, otherwise your vacation in Italy may begin with a fine of 50 Euros for a ticket fare. Take the train to Termini Terminus. This is the central station in Rome, from which you can easily get to any part of the city by bus or metro.

Bus

If you want to save a little money, you can go by bus. This is a little longer way but tickets are cheaper - only 6 Euros. And of course, do not forget that the number of seats on the bus is limited, and there are a lot of people who want to save money too, so be prepared to wait an hour or two for your turn.

If you drive yourself, the options with train and bus will indeed prove to be economical. The price of a ticket for a trip by bus or metro around the city should also be added to their cost. Such a ticket for 1.5 hours will cost 1.5 Euro. But if you flew on vacation with your family / company or work colleagues, then the total cost of public transport will be approximately the same 50 Euros, and if you add to this half a day spent on the road and heavy suitcases, there is also no pleasure and fatigue.

It’s another matter to come to another country with full confidence that you will be met, you will be helped with your luggage, you will be comfortably taken to the hotel and answer all questions in your native language.
